Fire Awareness Course based in Peterborough

Based in Peterborough, our Level 2 Course in Fire Awareness is a qualification for anyone managing fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area with a potential fire risk. Our Fire Safety course takes place in our Peterborough Venue or at one of our other venues that best suits you. Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of a fire on any premises.

Throughout this course, you will learn how to identify potential fire safety hazards and the best action to prevent a fire. At the end of our course, you will be able to explain how fires are caused in the workplace, understand the components of the fire triangle, and describe the characteristics of fire and smoke spread.

Once you have established the leading causes of a fire and what to be observant of, you will be taught how to control a fire, state the different methods used to identify and control fire hazards, define the term ‘means of escape concerning fire hazards, outline typical components for means of escape from fire hazards, describe methods of fire detection and raising the alarm as well as knowing how fires are extinguished. You will be knowledgeable about using portable fire-fighting equipment and Identify standard fixed fire-fighting systems.

At the end of the course, there will be a theory test. Please notify us if any candidates have any learning difficulties or special requirements upon booking.
